So, here's what's new with us....
I have started another new job. I am still at Clarian Arnett PRN, about one day a week, but am now full time at Community North Hospital in Indy. So driving to Indy again three days a week. I really like the new place and the work is challenging again. I really missed that. Some say they would love to get paid for sitting around doing nothing, but, trust me, it gets old real quickly!
Had a great weekend at the local Harley dealer's shindig for the Community Cancer Fund. Raised over $9000 and had a great time dancing and eating and, yes, drinking an adult beverage or two....or three..... or more...... Anyway,it was really fun to cut loose and be silly.
Also saw the Boilers lose a MISERABLE game. Looking forward to a resurrection at the Notre Dame game. Look out, Irish!! The Boilers are PISSED!!!
So, I guess that's the excitement from here for now. The toes are healing VERY slowly. One is giving me particular fits, but can't do anything about it except complain....so I will!

Finally,something NEW!!!
SO, after weeks of no activity at my house, I finally have some news to report!
I have three broken toes.......
OK, I didn't say it was good news, just news.
Here's a recap~~~ Monday June 1st,2009. A storm is a-brewin' in Frankfort , Indiana. I had been refinishing my porch swing for the last couple of weeks. It was perched on top of a small wooden bench so I could reach it to sand it.When the storm blew in, I went out to rescue my swing from certain damage. As soon as I lifted it off the "small wooden bench" , that bench suddenly became VERY large and VERY heavy. It blew over and landed on my foot.....all 5 toes BAM!!!!!
Long story short~~~ ER,Xray, three broken toes,aircast/cast for 4 more weeks~~IF I behave.I am back to work after 10 days off but still quite tender. My biggest disappointments are that I had to miss my date with Toby Keith this Saturday AND my debut as a solo rider at the poker run for juvenile diabetes last Saturday.AND our motorcycle vacation to the east coast has turned in to a car ride. Can't ride my bike for at least four more weeks.Oh,well............
Now we have vacation coming up a week from Saturday. I am excited just to be going. It doesn't matter where we go as long as we go somewhere. I think the plan is to go to Hershey PA and the Harley factory in York. AND to have some "lobsta" in Maine.THAT is what I'm looking forward YUM!!!!
So, there you have it . Until next time.............

I DID IT!!!!!
SO, I finished the Mini-Marathon!!! I did 13.1 miles in 3 hours and 25 minutes! I know that seems like a very long time, but all I had to do was finish in 4 hours. And I DID! Actually,it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.The most uncomfortable part was about mile 11 when my hands swelled up to about twice their size and I couldn't bend my fingers.Weird stuff~~~~ things you don't think about when you train for these things.
My dear friend Nan was there for me at the finish line. She has done 7 mini's and was SUCH a great coach and wonderful support for me. I couldn't have done it without her. So I have been able to cross one thing off my "bucket list". AND I have already signed up for next year! Yeah, I really AM crazy.
I will have a few pictures when I get them purchased on line. I can't cut and paste without paying for them, so I guess I'll have to pony up a few bucks first........
This weekend starts our new tradition of spending the weekends in May at the Speedway.John has decided that, rather than just go to the race and not really know what has been going on, we are going to go to Pole Day and Carb Day and Bump Day and every fun day there is at the track. So we actually have a little bit of a social life this month. It should be fun.I'm just looking forward to having some time off and being outside of a hospital and among adults.
So,that's the news from my life. Only a couple more months until our actual vacation! THAT I am REALLY looking forward to!

Three weeks and counting....
So, I finished the 15K in 2 hours and 25 minutes. Not bad for an old lady! The Mini is in three weeks and I am looking forward to it more every day. I am really proud of myself for sticking to it this far. Any of you who really know me , know that I am not the most ........persistant person when it comes to healthy habits. I tend to start strong and fizzle after a while. I kind of did that with the walking but somehow have managed to do pretty well in the training sessions and have no doubt that I will finish the Mini.Granted, I won't WIN, but I never intended to. Just finishing will be enough for me.
John and I now have all of the "pieces" of our motorcycles together after a winter of painting and chroming and adding all sorts of little accessories...mostly to John's but mine has a few new toys as well. Can't wait for nice weather to come and stay so we can get some miles in. I have a friend who is also new to riding so she and I may have some adventures on our own this summer! Look out!!!
I am thankful as I can be that our friends, The Toy's, in Tennessee are safe after a MAJOR tornado hit just blocks from their home.Lots of devastation and two deaths. They are still cleaning up but they are safe and well. I saw the pictures online and it is unbelievable.
That is my update for now. For those of you who are looking for more, refer to the title of my blog and don't say I didn't warn you!!! This is a good as it gets!

Not much to talk about, but......
So, here it is April and I have had very little to blog about.Don't say I didn't warn you at the beginning of this blog business. I really don't have much of a life.
Since we last blogged, there has been illness in our house, so I won't bore you with the deets of mucous and things coming out of the other end.Suffice to say, we are both better and all types of leakage and excretion has pretty much stopped.
Saturday is the last of my training sessions for the Mini-Marathon~~~~ 15K this time (9 miles, for the non-metric of you). The weather is supposed to be wonderful so I am looking forward to it.I hope it holds out and is actually 61 degrees on Saturday.
We have taken a short motorcycle trip.A couple of weekends ago we went to Delphi!!!! I SAID short! Looking at new cars and visiting friends. It was great weather and a fun ride. Then we got sick...oh,well,trade-offs!
Honestly I can't come up with anything else to tell about. Sad,sad life I have.Hopefully summer will bring something to talk about.Vacation to Gettysburg in July.THAT will be fun! Indy 500 next month as well as the Mini-Marathon.Motorcycle charity rides coming up starting next week. So,see, I will have a little bitof a life for a while :)
Until then.....later!

Poor kitty~~~
So,yesterday, I had the terrible task of taking our 9 month old little girl kitty to the vet for her laser declaw and spay. I know..I know...it is a barbaric practice. I apologize to those of you who don't agree, but it had to be done. She is a TERRIBLE scratcher and is shredding the furniture in our house. We are getting new furniture in a few weeks and I will not have her destroying it. In addition, I found out she was in heat.Eeeewwwwww..... Apparently, it is a more expensive procedure if they are in heat when you have them spayed. Something no one tells you until AFTER the fact.Anyway, she got me back when I brought her home today by proceeding to bleed from her foot all over the tan and off-white carpeting in the hallway and our bedroom. SO I spent until 10 am cleaning up blood from the carpeting. While I was on my hands and knees scrubbing in the back hallway, my husband came home and was kind enough to holler "Hey , there's blood all over in here!" Uuuuhhhhh,thanks...... but the good news is Miss Cubbie is fine and "glad to be home" according to my husband. No more bleeding and she is eating like a pig. I'll post some pictures of our animals someday. As soon as I figure out THAT technology.....

Update on Nothing
So, I always get aggravated at my friends when they don't update their blogs and I have nothing to read at work, so I am updating mine to give my friends something to do.
Let me get you up to speed......
Nothing is happening in my life right now.
You are now up to speed.

So I just finished the first of my training sessions for the Mini. I felt really proud when crossed the finish line. Even if it was only 5K, I feel like I'm on my way and can't wait til the next one on the first Saturday in March.
It was a really cool day. Lots of people and everyone was really excited and enthusiastic. It really was contagious. The weather couldn't have been better. The sun was out and it was in the 50's.
It was a great day.
Tonight we went to my husband's sister's house and met our new great-niece, Elly. She is almost 3 weeks old. I held her all evening and she slept "like a baby"!
Great day!!

What's New ~~~~~
Yes, I actually have some news!! I got a call today from my consultant at Jenny Craig. It seems that "First" magazine is looking for someone to do an article about and she recommended me!! They are going to do a story about weight loss and Jenny Craig success stories, so she thought of me and asked if it was something I would be interested in. Why not??? It sounds like fun. Now,mind you, going back to find some "before" pictures may not be a party, but it will be cool to see the comparison. I thinking some "after" photos on the Harley would be cool! SO that is my biggest news.
The second biggest is that I did 4 miles on the treadmill today in 60 minutes! That is well under the 18-minute-mile I have to do to stay in the field for the Mini-marathon. A BIG milestone for me. Especially since I have missed 3 days of workout due to having a tooth extracted on Friday.Sick from pain meds etc.... But all better now and back on track. And even more motivated now because of the magazine story. I'm thinking face lift, spray tan, fake eyelashes....the works!! Just kidding..I'm proud of myself just the way I am.That is the first time in a long time I can say that and mean it! I really think this resolution is going to stick this time!
Anyway, that's my big day. Can't wait to hear from the magazine people. My 15 minutes!!

Here it is!
OK, so I figure since I have no life to speak of, I might as well share it! Surely, someone out there has a little going on in their life as I do.
So here is my life as it stands so far in a nutshell:
I'm just a few weeks away from my 49th birthday. No, I'm not ashamed to say that. Because I still have my looks! HA! Actually, after the way I spent the late 70's and early 80's , I'm darn lucky to HAVE a 49th birthday ! It could have ended SO much sooner in SO many ugly ways. But it was FUN!!!
I have been married for 19 years and we weren't fortunate enough to have kids. Or maybe kids were fortunate enough NOT to have us! For whatever reason, it didn't work out. So instead of raising kids , we are buying toys and riding Harleys!
Yes, I am a biker babe! I have a 2008 Harley Davidson Rocker C. I got it last summer and am just getting comfortable on it. It is SO much fun. My husband and I took a 4000 mile trip out West last summer on his Street Glide and, I guess you could say I got tired of riding b**ch! So I got my own in August. After taking the ABATE riding course, which I highly recommend if you even have to slightest notion you might like to ride, I fell in love with the Rocker and just ran across one at the Harley shop near our town one afternoon. What a blast!!!! Some day I'll post some pictures of it. It's pretty awesome!!
I am also a nurse~~~~ have been for over 27 years. I work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in a brand new hospital. It is my passion and the one thing I KNOW I do well. I go home every day knowing I made a difference in a baby's life. How great is that!!
I don't have a lot going on in my life right now, but , believe me, as soon as I get a life, I will let you know!!!
Next on my agenda of things to do before I die is the Mini-Marathon in Indianapolis. It is May 2nd,2009 and is a 13.1 mile half marathon . I am training now and hope to be up to speed by then.It is quite an adventure for someone who didn't exercise. Talk about a New Year's resolution!!! This one is sticking!! I have been dieting for over 8 months and have lost nearly 23 pounds and 15 inches, so this is the next step. I can't WAIT to cross the finish line!!!
Anyway, I'm sure that is about all any of you can take for now. I'm exhausted just reading about my life!!!
